Modern, better approaches
If you have been afraid to see the dentist, Basti Dental Care has many noninvasive and comfortable ways to treat decay. Lasers may be used to remove decay. If you need a filling, laser energy is a no-shot way to prepare the tooth to be filled and to harden the filling.
If decay has progressed, you may have gum disease. Lasers may reshape the gums. They may also be used to clean and prepare a tooth during root canal therapy.
Root canal therapy may be necessary to save a badly decayed or damaged tooth. If it is determined this treatment can save the tooth, Drs. Basti will access the innermost portion of the tooth. Diseased and dead tissue will be removed and the root canals will be reshaped and cleaned, at which time they will be filled to prevent recurring infection.
The procedure for a dental crown doesn't have to involve root canal treatment unless the dental pulp is affected. Preparation in this case merely involves filing down the remaining tooth structure so there is enough room for the dental crown to fit over it properly.
