Kybella is a form of synthetically produced deoxycholic acid. When found naturally in the body, deoxycholic acid helps the body break down and absorb fat. When Kybella is injected into the submental fat pockets around the chin and jawline, it rapidly destroys the cells allowing the body to absorb and eliminate them through the body’s natural metabolic process. Kybella also helps prevent future fat accumulation.

How Kybella works

Kybella treatments are administered as a series of injections to the layers of fat underneath the chin. During the consultation process, we can determine a custom treatment plan that includes the location of the injections along with the recommended number of treatments for patients to achieve desired results. The treatment itself is usually completed in less than 20 minutes. Topical anesthesia is used to ensure patient comfort.

Most patients see visible results within two to four sessions about 4 weeks apart. Results can be long term; further treatment is not needed unless any submental fat accumulation redevelops.
