Liposuction of the outer thighs

Dr Dass describes liposuction of the outer thighs
The outer thigh is a common area of concern for women in Los Angeles. Women often complain of the outer thighs being too large. This results in a not so flattering figure when wearing certain dresses and form-fitting clothes. Larger thighs can also make it difficult to find pants or jeans that fit well. Liposuction of the outer thighs is an excellent way to sculpt the outer thighs.

Good candidates for outer thigh liposuction have excess fat localized to the outer thighs and have good quality skin without irregularities. Women who have loose skin, or have lost a lot of weight might be better candidates for a lower body lift where a tummy tuck incision is extended circumferentially resulting in a lift to the outer thighs.

Surgery requires just a couple of small 3mm incisions that hide very well and tend to be unnoticeable. Multiple incisions are usually necessary to create an even result.

Women who get liposuction to treat the outer thighs, often also get liposuction of the inner thighs, banana rolls (area under the buttock) and the inner knees. This improves the overall contour of the legs and creates a very smooth transition. During the recovery, you will need to wear a garment that applies compression to the legs. This is worn all the time, preferably for about four to six weeks. The compression garment helps to limit the swelling and also improve the way the skin looks. Since the legs are nearly always below the level of your heart, it is important to keep your legs elevated whenever you are not standing, to reduce the amount of swelling in the legs during the recovery period. There is minimal discomfort after liposuction of the outer thighs.
