"What will likely matter most to people, Dr. Son is the absolute best at making sure you feel ZERO pain. His numbing process is the equivalent of breathing. You just don't know when the process has started and then your gums are numb. Sounds too good to be true. That's the feeling I get every single time I go through the process.

"I have been a Dr. Son fan for about 5 years. I have had a lot of dental work in my life and so I feel like I’m a bit of a Dental Expert. Dr. Son is the best. I like the way he explains things to me so that I really understand “why.” His office is very professional and yet everyone there is so friendly and helpful, I always feel like I’m visiting my friends. It’s not the kind of office where you sign in and take a seat. They know me when I walk in and they really make me feel like I’m the only one there, lots of personal attention. I’ve sent my family and some of my friends to his office and they are fans as well."

"They score 5 stars for everything: professionalism, atmosphere, quality of service, customer service, and just darn willingness to help.
First, the important stuff. Dr. Son personally attended to me, unlike other dentists who pawn you off on their multitude of staff and only stare at your x-rays for 5 minutes. He had 3 or so other patients going on and as far as I could tell, he was spending a lot of time on all of them!
The staff were all amazing. They were welcoming but not insincerely so, friendly and inquisitive, but not pushy, and professional and efficient. I did not wait at all and was promptly attended to as soon as I finished paperwork. I waited for Dr. Son for at the most, 5 minutes.
I want to also give their very nice office manager an additional bonus. I filled out my paperwork in a separate side room where afterwards she asked some standard first-visit questions; I thought that was a very nice touch to put patients who need to fill out paperwork and answer questions in a separate room, rather than across the counter as most doctor's offices do. Not that I mind that, I just think this was a very nice and classy touch. It was that extra something that made me feel I was not just another patient swinging through the door.
My consult, which was about growing jaw pain due to grinding, was lengthy and informative. Dr. Son went out of his way to explain to me the biomechanical reasons behind my pain and the methods of treating it. They even handled the billing part of it magnificently. Their office, which is out-of-network for me, was more than happy to call my insurance to check for me if the cost would be higher, lower, or the same in or out of network. (I would like to add that being paranoid and suspicious by nature I furtively called my insurance company to ask the same questions. The answers concurred perfectly).
Lastly, and this may be a personal thing, I love the fact that I went through an entire visit without having 50 million things pawned on me. "Yes, I know my teeth are crooked no I don't want Invisalign." or "Yes, I know my teeth are a little on the yellow side, no I'm not interested in brightening."
Overall, if you're looking for an Irvine dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Son and staff. I'm just sad they are out of network so I may not be able to continue with them (damn you American health care system!) but based on this amazing 1st visit, if my insurance ever changes, I'm there."

"I went to Dr. Son as a new patient. I was kind of worried because I had not been to the Dentist in quite some time. I knew that I needed a dental cleaning in addition to some rather extensive dental treatment. Dr. Son went over all of my options for treatment with me. He was very thorough. Dava was so helpful and supportive. Dava took time to make sure that all of my concerns and questions were answered by the Dr. and my Hygienist. I had some gum issues due to the fact that I had not had my teeth cleaned in over 2 years. Dr. Son and his team started in on my treatment right away, restoring my gums to a healthy condition. Dava assisted me in applying for CareCredit, a program that is interest free upto 12 months. This is great because I can divide my costs in to 12 monthly payments and not have to postpone my necessary dental treatment. I found Dr. Son and his team to be caring, warm and friendly. Most of all they are a group of professionals committed to making a difference. I will recommend Dr. Son to everyone I know."
