Meet the Doctor
Dr. Donald Cleland, DDS is proud to have been practicing dentistry in the Orland Park, IL area for over 20 years, and has been known in the local community as a well-respected, reliable, and gentle dentist who can put patients at ease immediately after they walk into his office. Many patients have enjoyed treatment from his practice over the years. He offers general, cosmetic, and preventative dentistry for patients of all ages, and provides everything from a standard cleaning to Invisalign orthodontics for patients who are ready to improve their smile and their confidence!Dr. Cleland is one of the very few children who proudly proclaimed he wanted to be a dentist when he grew up. While many dentists end up in the profession because they want to work with their hands or they were led into a family-owned practice, Dr. Cleland chose dentistry because of the difference his own childhood dentist made in his life. With a history of very bad teeth, Dr. Cleland worked with a quality dentist who made him feel important. His dentist gave him the confidence he needed to maintain a healthy smile, and got him excited about caring for his teeth. At the age of 10, Dr. Cleland was adamant he would become a dentist to help others achieve that same excitement and get the encouragement they needed to maintain a happy, healthy smile for life. With over 25 years in the business, he loves what he does each and every day, and fully understands the impact he has on others and their oral health.
Dr. Cleland received his bachelors and DDS from the Loyola University of Chicago and later started teaching at the Loyola Dental School. Before he opened his own practice in Orland Park, he worked for the Cook County Department of Public Health. He continues to educate himself on new and advanced dental treatments to ensure that he offers the best in dental care to those in the area. He is also a Perio Protect Certified Provider, helping patients who have developed periodontal disease and need to control and reverse the condition.
Dr. Cleland is a father of five children and enjoys spending time with his wife and family when he's not helping others improve their smiles. He enjoys watching movies and sports, and is extremely proud of his two children who have served in our military with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
