Fight ravages of time with nonsurgical body contouring techniques
Arta Dermatology offers non-invasive body contouring treatment to help regain youthful shape and definition.
How body contouring helps
As you get older, metabolism slows down. Estrogen levels drop. A lack of sleep, stress from family and work pressures, and other lifestyle factors are thought to affect “hunger” hormones. All of these factors can change how fat is distributed. You may find yourself contending with excess around the middle, thighs, belly, back, and arms. These areas are quite resistant to exercise and proper diet.
A treatment of choice
Formerly, getting a more sculpted body may have required surgical procedures, such as a tummy tuck or liposuction. As with any surgery, there are risks. Infection, poor healing, permanent contour irregularities, scarring and numbness are associated with these types of procedures as deeper structures – including nerves – may be affected when excess fat and tissue are removed.
There are a number of newer procedures designed to effectively remove fat and even tighten underlying tissues without surgery. Dr. Arta Farshidi’s preferred method for nonsurgical body contouring is Exilis.
Exilis uses Radiofrequency, or RF energy, to heat the treatment area. Thermal energy changes how fat cells are metabolized, ultimately shrinking them.
Exilis is well-tolerated by many patients and can even be used on the face. An aging jawline and neck are prone to laxity, as the proteins that support tissues and give skin its ability to spring back once stretched are in shorter supply. Notably, Exilis can restore the firming collagen protein, which ultimately results in tighter skin.
Other minimally-invasive “body contouring” treatments do not have the capability to both sculpt and tighten. This feature is particularly beneficial for those patients who may have trouble spots that are more fleshy than fatty. The area behind the arms, for example, requires skin tightening and not necessarily fat sculpting.
Are you a candidate for body contouring?
Contouring treatments like Exilis are not weight loss programs. These procedures can be an excellent choice for patients who are either within their healthy weight or are close to achieving that ideal. If you have a few bumps and bulges but are otherwise healthy, call (949) 531-7111 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Farshidi. Exilis could very well be the effective alternative to surgical fat reduction that you’ve been looking for!
