Restore your smile quickly with CEREC in Tarpon Springs

Dr. Xhoana Gjelaj knows what a precious commodity time is to her patients. The smile is also a valuable asset that needs to be managed with efficient care. Incorporating CEREC into her Tarpon Springs dental office, Dr. Gjelaj provides her patients with a way to repair tooth damage beautifully in just one visit.

CEREC is the process of CEramic REConstruction. It is not necessarily a technique but more of a streamlined process through which a tooth is repaired with an inlay, onlay, or crown. Restorations are made from beautiful ceramic material that is color-matched to surrounding teeth. These restorations have been used on thousands of patients over the past twenty years. In addition to the expedited completion of treatment and long lasting results, CEREC is also very efficient and comfortable, requiring no messy impressions.

Dr. Gjelaj is proud to offer the CEREC service to her patients. Her expertise in this process is well known and shared with her peers through the mentoring program at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, where she mentors.

The CEREC process

When tooth repair is needed, the CEREC process involves taking digital impressions using advanced imaging. The image of the tooth is processed in the CEREC system right in our office. Through this 3D software, a precision restoration is designed.

Following the design process, the restoration is milled in the CEREC machine. From a block of high quality, natural looking porcelain, the milling machine expertly creates a durable, beautiful restoration. The final crown, inlay, or onlay is ready in a very short time and it will match the shape, size, and color of surrounding teeth. The precision of CEREC is outstanding.

Due to the use of porcelain material, the restorations made in the CEREC milling machine look and act very much like natural enamel. This is important because a restoration that moves like enamel when it is exposed to hot and cold temperatures will last longer and will better preserve the repaired tooth. Unlike metal restorations, CEREC porcelain restorations will not cause fractures or breaks in the natural tooth due to expansion.

Immediately after the CEREC restoration is made in our office, Dr. Gjelaj is able to place it on the tooth and assess for proper fit. The restoration is bonded to the tooth for repair that can actually strengthen the structural integrity of the damaged tooth.

If you have about an hour and want your smile repaired in the most beautiful way, consider CEREC restorations from your Tarpon Springs dentist.
