Meet the Team
Dr. Neeraja C. Mattay
Dr. Mattay has strived for excellence since early in life. She was the valedictorian at Marshall High School before graduating first in her class at Georgetown University. After her undergraduate studies, Dr. Mattay entered the program at the Medical College of Virginia. During medical school, she belonged to the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She remained at this institution for an additional year of training in internal medicine as well as her three-year dermatology residency. During this time, she received recognition for her commitment with the Dermatology Department’s Award for Excellence in Academics and Teaching. Dr. Mattay is a staff member at the George Washington University Medical Center and an overseeing physician for our practice. She has been recognized in Washingtonian Magazine as a Top Doctor, and has also been recognized as a “Northern Virginia Top Doctor” and a “US News Top Doctor.”
Dr. Anjali Chandela
Dr. Chandela’s initial degree, received with honors from Princeton University, was in Molecular Biology. From the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, she earned her MD as well as a PhD before performing a residency in dermatology at Cornell Medical College (in affiliation with NY Presbyterian Hospital) in New York. She served as Assistant Professor of Dermatology for this institution from 2006 to 2010. Dr. Chandela has special interests in women’s dermatologic issues, cosmetic dermatology, and disease such as rosacea, skin cancer, acne, eczema, and psoriasis. She belongs to the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Asmaa Chaudhry
A Georgia native, Dr. Chaudhry graduated with highest honors, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University before attending the Medical College of Georgia. After earning her MD, she completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University. She also performed a residency in this state, at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Chaudhry and her husband and three children called Virginia home since 2012. She enjoys all aspects of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, including pediatric issues, and is passionate about educating her patients. Dr. Chaudhry has been recognized for academic excellence on numerous occasions. Several of her academic works can be found in esteemed dermatologic journals, and she has been recognized for her research. A lecturer at various medical conferences, Dr. Chaudhry is fluent in Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi.
Michelle Burton, PA-C.
Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a
specialization in Dietetics from the University of Florida.
She was recognized with highest distinction
through the UF Anderson Scholars Award and graduated with c
um laude honors. Following her
undergraduate achievements, she gained dermatology experience working as a medical assistant
alongside a Mohs surgeon in a general, surgical, and
cosmetic practice. She then moved to Virginia to
receive her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from James Madison University. Her passions encompass general and cosmetic dermatology. When she
isn’t immersed in the world of skin, she is
an avid outdoorswoman and seeks out any opportunity for
a travel adventure.
Lauren Kellmel, Licensed Esthetician, Certified Laser Technician
Lauren received her esthetic training and is a graduate of The Esthetic Institute in Vienna, VA. With ten years of experience in the medical field as a medical assistant, Lauren has a way to make our patients feel comfortable and informed. She has extensive knowledge and education regarding lasers, especially laser hair removal.
