Ultherapy® Educational Video
How it works
Proven safe and effective through stringent testing, Ultherapy is based on ultrasound energy, to which the skin cells readily respond. During treatment, the deep structural tissues that support vibrant, tight skin are stimulated. These are the same tissues that are typically corrected in the surgical facelift procedure. The focused ultrasound energy targets the internal, underlying foundational skin layers and stimulates them to regenerate which affects the outside appearance of the skin by causing it to lift and tighten giving it a more youthful, toned appearance. What to expect
There’s no preparation needed prior to the procedure. The area to be treated is cleansed and a special ultrasound gel is applied. Then the technician places the handpiece on the skin and applies slight pressure so that the image on the monitor clearly indicates the depth of the area to be targeted with concentrated ultrasound energy. At precisely the right moment, quantities of focused energy are delivered through the skin surface directly into the underlying foundational skin tissues where they stimulate the cells into producing new collagen. A typical Ultherapy session lasts around an hour, though this varies depending upon the treatment area(s).Patients respond differently to the sensation of Ultherapy depending upon the area that is being treated and their own tolerance levels. There are different ways to make the experience more comfortable – all of which will be discussed with you at your first consultation. The only sensation felt is at the actual moment at which the ultrasound energy enters the foundational skin layers. Many patients find they can easily accept this mild discomfort and focus instead on thoughts of the tightened, youthful looks that will develop over the next 2-3 months.
