What to expect

CoolSculpting treatment begins with the determination of the treatment area. This helps us to properly position the patient for their comfortable session. If we are treating love handles, for instance, we will help the patient find a comfortable position on his or her side so that we have optimal access to the treatment area.

Treatment is completed with a handpiece. This device draws small areas of bulge up, where cooling will take place between two panels. Patients will feel the firm tug of the device, which should not be uncomfortable. As tissue is treated, an intense cold sensation will develop, lasting only a few minutes before it decreases.

Due to the non-invasive nature of CoolSculpting treatment, patients are able to resume their normal daily activities right away. The treatment area may continue to feel numb or tingly, and may appear slightly red or bruised for several hours. Over the next two to four months, the body will continually process treated fat cells, digesting and eliminating them naturally.
