Injectable Fillers
Fillers can consist of fat, human collagen, bovine collagen, hyaluronic acid (found naturally in your body and which decreases with age), or synthetic substances. Fillers are classified according to the levels of injections into the skin, duration of action, and acts as a filler (act as a substitute for collagen) or collagen stimulator (stimulates the natural production of collagen). Collagen stimulators (Sculptra and Radiesse) tend to last longer.
Fillers are use to treat:
- Wrinkle and folds
- Lip enhancement
- Shaping facial contours (cheeks, chin)
- Smile and frown lines
- Lipoatrophy
- Facial contouring
An experienced injector will choose the best filler for you to optimize your correction. Optimal results depend on the correct placement of the filler.
Fillers are very versatile and can be placed in many areas. Botox and Dysport may also be used to enhance the effects of fillers.
