Dr. Bob Perlmuter

Robert G. Perlmuter MD, FACP

Dr, Robert G, Perlmuter is a Board-certified internist, and the founder of Primary Care Medical Associates Ltd. He established this practice in 1988, with the goal of delivering premier primary medical care. He has since developed a concierge program that allows him to accomplish that goal by giving each patient plentiful time, attention, and VIP treatment.

Education and professional background

Dr. Perlmuter attended University of Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction. He went on to Cleveland, Ohio and attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. After graduating, he continued to Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where he completed a 3 year residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Perlmuter is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. He also serves as Presence St. Joseph Hospital’s Section Chief of Internal Medicine. He holds a teaching position at Northwestern University, instructing residents as well as medical students.

Dr, Perlmuter is board-certified in internal medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He focuses on healthy living and prevention of disease. He strives to avoid disease, and avoid the need for medication or invasive treatment by maintaining optimal wellness through nutrition and healthy habits. His belief is that balance in nutrition, and in life, is the ultimate key to overall health and wellness.

Out of the office

Dr. Perlmuter, and Karen, his wife, are proud parents of two adult daughters. When he is not caring for patients or spending time with family, Dr. Perlmuter enjoys traveling, theater, fitness, golf, and tennis. He has a high-energy level, and lives a very active life. However, no matter what he is doing, he makes himself available to his concierge patients via text message, even on weekends and after hours.
Nancy A. Zamora MD

Nancy A. Zamora MD

Dr. Zamora joined PCMA in 1993. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Zamora is a firm advocate of changing habits and developing healthier lifestyles to experience better health. She focuses on primary care and disease prevention. She is particularly skilled in her ability to listen to her patients, glean pertinent information and put together the “big picture.” In addition to being a physician, wife and mother, she frequently participates in local runs and most enjoys running with her beautiful dog Sky. She also greatly enjoys music of all genres.
Sheila Bhagavan MD

Sheila Bhagavan MD

Dr. Bhagavan joined PCMA in 1999. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She received both her undergraduate and medical degrees from Indiana University. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where she also served as Chief Medical Resident for an additional year. Dr. Bhagavan takes a proactive approach to medicine and focuses on primary care and prevention. She sees her role as being the “health quarterback” for her patients. This means that she is willing to listen, ask insightful questions, and encourage lifestyle changes that lead to better health. She enjoys working alongside her patients as they age and experience transitions in health. She lives in Chicago with her husband and her two daughters. She is a voracious reader, enjoys spending time with her family, exercises regularly, loves to travel, and is a patron of the Lyric Opera.
Nooshin Cohanim MD

Nooshin Cohanim MD

Dr. Cohanim joined PCMA in 2005. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine there as well. She treats a broad spectrum of issues ranging from anxiety to diabetes to asthma. Focusing on disease prevention, she works closely with her patients to screen for diseases, and emphasizes nutrition to promote good health and wellbeing. She works in partnership with her patients to make lifestyle modifications before turning to medication whenever feasible. Dr. Cohanim resides in Chicago with her husband and two highly energetic young daughters.
Erin M. Davis MD

Erin M. Davis MD

Dr. Davis joined PCMA in 2013. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Temple University and her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Davis has a particular interest in weight management, preventive care, and sports medicine. She finds teaching very rewarding and works with medical students from Northwestern University. She enjoys running, scuba diving, and painting.
Anne Turner

Anne Turner

Anne Turner has been a certified family nurse practitioner for sixteen years. She received her Masters in Nursing from DePaul University and Post-Masters Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from Wilmington University in New Castle, Delaware. Her experience has been focused on primary care in the outpatient setting. She has a particular interest in preventative medicine as well as helping her patients achieve optimum control of their individual medical problems. Anne has a strong belief in partnering with the patient to develop individualized goals. Developing relationships with her patients is the most rewarding part of her work. Anne is married and has four daughters as well as six grandchildren and a dog. She enjoys reading, walking by the lake and playing with her grandkids. She is very excited to join the group at PMCA and we are excited to be working with her!
Mary Lynne Metz

Mary Lynne Metz

Mary Lynne Metz received her Masters in Science in Nursing from St Louis University. As an ANA Board Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist in Gerontological Nursing she works with Dr.Perlmuter/PCMA as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. Most of her professional time is spent at The Admiral at the Lake, Buckingham Pavilion in Chicago and doing house calls for home-bound senior citizens. Of late she is fascinated with practical applications of human microbiome research and their effects on health. At home she is an avid gardener and enjoys writing and painting. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and 13 year old daughter.
