Dr. Tomeka Roberts of Birmingham is proud to host the "Not on Our Watch Tween/Teen Educational Program" on Saturday, March 26th, 2016 from 9.30am – 12.30pm and the registrations will be started at 9am. This educational conference is developed for young women in the Birmingham area and will be hosted at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The "Not on Our Watch" program is developed by a board certified OBGYN, Dr. Tomeka Roberts of Birmingham. It is designed for young women between 13 and 17 years of age to educate them on the establishment of healthy behaviors regarding their bodies in an environment that is comfortable, fun, and safe. It offers education on how to care for the body in a hygienic manner, positive health practices regarding the health and wellness of their changing bodies, and how to prevent Sexually Transmitted Infections known as STI's.
This program is an educational event that used educational games and dedicated professional and inspirational speakers to answer questions on Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) and Birth Control Options, as well as sexual education.
The "Not on Our Watch" program is dedicated to changing unhealthy behaviors and educating young women on the care and concern regarding their bodies. It is a wonderful opportunity for Dr. Tomeka Roberts to give back to her community and provide female youth with education that can provide life-changing solutions to their medical concerns. Using a group of experts and professionally trained community physicians, young women can learn about their bodies and understand how to properly care for them and respect them, showing them ways of acting safely and responsibly as they enter adulthood.
