Invisalign

For much of the history of dentistry, there was only one option when it came to straightening teeth. Although based on sound scientific principles, conventional orthodontics, with its metal brackets and wires, and years of treatment, is just too much for some people. Rather than avoid getting the smile you have long wanted, we encourage you to discover if the Invisalign teeth straightening system is right for you. Dr. Patel uses this advanced technique with great success in many cases, and he can help you realize your smile goals without the inconvenience and discomfort of metal braces.
The wealth of benefits patients experience with Invisalign comes down to the custom-designed aligner trays. This series of trays is fabricated based on the results of your initial consultation, in which x-rays and photos of the mouth are taken. During this visit, Dr. Patel also listens to what you would like to see in your smile, and discusses the details of Invisalign treatment. As much as possible, we try to estimate the length of treatment, but much is dependent on the response to aligners, and compliance with recommended wear.
In the Invisalign lab, aligner trays are carefully crafted to fit to patients’ teeth. Each new set of aligners will be slightly different, placing pressure on certain teeth to progress the smile gradually to its most beautiful state. Made of clear, durable plastic, aligners are far more comfortable than metal brackets that may poke at the soft tissues in the mouth. Trays are also removable, which allows our patients to continue with their normal dietary habits without inconvenience. It is important that trays also be removed for drinking anything other than water; especially warm drinks, to prevent warping.
Aside from the discreetness and convenience of Invisalign, this system is also an excellent choice for sustained oral health. Teeth and gums can be cared for successfully and easily without the obstacle of brackets and wires. We advise patients to brush and floss at least twice a day, if not after every meal. Since teeth are held within the tight space of aligners most of the day, it becomes essential to remove bacteria from the mouth regularly. In addition to brushing and flossing teeth, aligner trays should also be gently brushed and rinsed in cold water before replacing after meals or oral hygiene.
Improving your smile with Invisalign is simple, comfortable, and effective. We schedule visits every four to six weeks to monitor progress, and are available to provide necessary support throughout treatment.
