Q: I had botox injected in my crows feet but I wanted the lines under my eyelids treated too. Now I have puffiness. Will this go away?A: Yes, in three to four months or less, the swelling that has occurred because the eyelid isn't moving normally as it's relaxed and it can't pump the normal fluid buildup away. That's why very judicious small units of Botox should be put in the lower eyelid if at all for this off-label procedure.
Q: I don't have the “11” that a lot of my friends do, but my crease over the nose in the lower middle forehead between the eyebrows is horizontal. Would Botox help me?
A: Possibly. You would need an examination. Many people who have a nasal bridge horizontal crease obtain benefit from Botox.
Q: I had botox injected in my glabella and some in my forehead but the outer part of my eyebrow is quite raised and I look funny, what can be done?
A: Fortunately, just a couple of units placed in the best position for your situation, Botox can correct the problem. It can happen when the forehead tries to compensate for the fact that it can't raise the area any more and the outer forehead tries to lift for the middle forehead too.
Q: Is it a good idea to do Botox in my upper lip for the vertical lines?
A: Botox is very good at helping to smoothen the vertical lines of the lip but it can affect how the lip moves and would not be a good idea in a musician that plays wind instruments, an orator, singer, etc. It can flatten the lip making brushing teeth difficult and can affect ones smile.
Q: I had Botox two months ago and now the muscles are able to move again. Does this mean Botox isn't working on me anymore?
A: Two months occasionally removes most Botox in rare individuals. Usually it lasts three to four months. I do have a couple of patients that the Botox wears off in two months. It doesn't mean it's not effective, but it means there's a hastening of the products duration. Switching to Dysport or Xeomin might not be of any benefit.
