Botox™ - Related FAQ's

Q: I want an upturn in my upper eyelid can Botox help?

A: Some times the Botox injected near the tail of the eyebrow can help reduce the lowering effect of this muscle and help raise the outer eyebrow.

Q: I just had put on a very tight cap after having Botox yesterday. Did I jeopardize my result?

A: No. There is no evidence that tight garments over the forehead will negatively effect your Botox result when it is one day after the treatment.

Q: Can I thread my eyebrows right after Botox?

A: You should avoid such treatment for about four hours after Botox to play it safe although there may be no unwanted side effects should you do it earlier. It is not well studied.

Q: I have had my forehead injected with Botox for many years but this last time, with the same doctor, my upper eyelids feel heavy and it's hard for me to apply eyeshadow. Why is this? Will it go away? Can I ever have Botox again?

A: This may be a one-time situation and it will go away on its own over three to four months usually. The forehead is a strong muscle and lifts up the eyebrows but Botox used to make the forehead smooth can inhibit the forehead to help lift up the eyebrows which in turn, help lift up the eyelids. The upper eyelids can get compressed from the eyebrows sagging and this can make them feel heavy. Your doctor needs to know you experienced this so he or she can possibly evaluate if it was some different technique used the last time or if it is an aging sagging of the forehead that will not allow the same Botox treatment as has been done in the past.
