Benefits of Cosmetic Fillers NYC - Related FAQ's
My surgeon did fat injections for my tear trough two weeks ago and one side is definitely larger than the other. What should I do?
Nothing, for now other than seeing your surgeon and letting them know your concerns. It's too early to surgically revise the area. There may be considerable improvement in the next few months as swelling improves. There are things that your doctor may need to rule out as complications, though, so make sure you see them soon. Cysts are rare this early, but a hematoma, or collection of blood underneath the skin could cause a lump. This can be treated but sometimes resolves by itself. Infection is very rare but this would also be evaluated. Then, when you're reassured that everything is OK, you can continue to followup with your doctor and see how much it improves. If it does not become equal, more filler can be injected in the flatter side, or if the larger side is not aesthetically-pleasing, it can be reduced, possibly, although this is more difficult with fat compared with hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm.I wanted Restylane for my cheeks but the doctor informed me they only used Juvederm. Should I be upset that the treatment won't be the same?
No, don't be upset. These products, although slightly different, provide similar results. Some doctors use only one or the other filler. Some doctors mix and match.I had fat injections done in my face and around the eyes. I have a couple of bumps on the lower eyelid skin about a quarter inch below the eyelashes. What can be done about this? The fat injections were done three months ago.
The thin skin of the eyelid area can allow the fat to show more lumpy than some other fillers. Close to the eyelashes, the filler can only be injected above the muscle so it may push the skin upwards. In the groove below the eye, the tear trough, the filler can be injected below the muscle which may make lumps less apparent. Fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm can be injected with hyaluronidase to dissolve lumps but fat would have to be excised which can leave a permanent scar. Corticosteroids might dissolve the fat lumps if injected, but there are possible complications of this procedure.Related Articles
