Pelleve™ - Related FAQ's

Q: If I want my upper eyelids treated, would I have Ultherapy?

A: NO. Ultherapy does not have a transducer that will fit, nor deliver the right energy to the thin aspect of the upper eyelid skin. Pelleve is much better to tighten this tissue, or Thermage.

Q: Will Pelleve give me a mini facelift two days before I have to attend a special wedding where I want to look my best?

A: This is a commonly asked question. If someone has not much time prior to a social function at which they want to look their best, fillers would not be a great idea in case of bruising. Botox and Dysport don't take full effect in one or two days usually. Fraxel laser can provide redness, swelling and brown discoloration for a five to seven day period. Both Ultherapy ultrasound and Pelleve radio-frequency can be done but Ultherapy targets deeper tissue for a greater lift and won't show the results as immediately as Pelleve. Neither of these procedures produces lifting to match a face lift! However, without any downtime, Pelleve can rejuvenate the appearance immediately in some patients. This is a deep warm massage and is the most comfortable of any resurfacing procedure or lifting procedure mentioned. Some lines temporarily fade considerably, secondary to the microscopic retention of fluid created by the deep heat. The deep heat helps the body make new collagen for long term rejuvenation but the temporary effects are often utilized by people interested in looking good for that special function a couple of days away. There is a great advantage of Pelleve over Ultherapy around the eyelids as Pelleve can reach the smaller area better and the Ultherapy's reach is too deep for the thin upper eyelid skin. It can significantly help those fine creases of the lower eyelids that Botox can't help.
