Meet the Team

Rahul Shukla, MD

drs skin care is privileged to have the expertise of Dr. Shukla as lead dermatologist.. He is Board-certified in dermatology, in both Canada and in the United States. He has earned Fellowship status in the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, and he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology.

His career began with a bachelor of science degree from Brock University. At Brock, he was awarded the Governor General’s silver academic medal for highest overall GPA in undergraduate studies. He attended medical school at McMaster University, and completed dermatology residency at University of Toronto, serving as chief resident in his final year.

Dr. Shukla stays current with emerging techniques and technologies in the ever-changing field of dermatology, through active membership in a number of professional associations including:

• Canadian Dermatology Association
• American Academy of Dermatology
• American Society of Dermatologic Surgery
• American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery

The Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology has utilized Dr. Shukla’s expertise as a reviewer. He has had several peer-reviewed manuscripts published, and presented abstracts on national and international levels. He shares this insight with other physicians through a busy lecture schedule. Dr. Shukla is also instrumental in molding the future of dermatology, teaching medical students and residents.

Stephanie

Stephanie has been in the cosmetic industry for 8 years. Stephanie attended Sheridan College, where she studied Cosmetology and Aesthetics. She has also studied and trained with numerous professionals in the aesthetics industry including Salient, SkinCeuticals, Palomar, Syneron, Obagi ZO, Clarion, PCA skincare, Zeltique.

Stephanie has tremendous knowledge in the area of cosmetic injections. She considers laser skin rejuvenation and hair removal to be her “specialties.” She has performed countless treatments over her years in the industry, and has treated all different skin types and hair types. She has an extensive knowledge in areas of as sun damage and vascular issues, as well.

Aside from her love for laser treatments and skincare, Stephanie has also provided freelance makeup artistry for numerous weddings, proms, and photo shoots. She has studied special effects and stage makeup and has great skills in camouflage.

Stephanie’s professional philosophy is “if you’re not learning, you’re not growing.” She is always willing to expand her education, and as a result, continues to grow. We believe that you will find, as we do, that her knowledge, passion, and warmth make her a valuable asset to our team!

Lavina

Lavina, a Registered Practical Nurse, joined drs skin care in 2016, bring current insight as a recent Mohawk College graduate. She continues to expand her skills, assisting Dr. Shukla with medical procedures. Lavina’s favorite aspect of this career is helping others feel great about themselves and their skin. She says, “I enjoy talking with patients about dermatology, and working with them to reach their ultimate skin care goals.”

Outside of the office, Lavina likes to keep her mind and body active.

Amber-Leigh

Meet Amber-Leigh. Amber-Leigh is our positive, caring Medical Aesthetician. She specializes in skincare, IPL, laser & a variety of skincare services. She has extensive knowledge on all of our skincare products & treatments.

As a Medical Aesthetician and Skin Care Therapist, Amber helps people feel better in their own skin. She joined drs skin care in 2016 with credentials in medical aesthetics from the Canadian Beauty College in Mississauga, and previous experience in this field.

She calls this post her dream job, working with Dr. Shukla and the team. Amber handles all sorts of cosmetic and medical treatments from chemical peels to laser hair removal. She takes a special interest in advanced skin care such as Skinceuticals, ZO Obagi, PCA Skin Care, Salient, Clarion, and Glo Minerals.

In 2013, Amber pursued a love of music at Mohawk College in Hamilton. Today, her days are filled with dermatology, and music as her second passion, as a jazz vocalist. She also enjoys outdoor activities and reading.

Amber-Leigh is a great listener which helps her understand her clients needs to customize the best treatment plan! She takes pride in great skincare & making clients feel beautiful in their own skin.

Sam

Sam is our fantastic, dedicated medical receptionist. She plays one of the most important roles here! She has been with drs skincare for over 3 years.

Her daily role with us includes arranging schedules, welcoming patients and much more! Sam’s bright smile and warmth is a huge asset to our team!
