When Jasmine first came to me, she was wearing Invisalign braces for two years with another dentist and was not happy with the way her teeth looked. I thought I could have taken over the Invisalign case and make it work but Jasmine said she wasn’t happy with the shape of her teeth (Invisalign can’t change the shape of teeth) or her gummy smile. Jasmine insisted on eight veneers.
She did not have to bleach her teeth because the veneers went far enough back that I didn’t have a problem selecting a shade she liked (in most cases this is the best number of veneers to place in order to get the best results). Because Jasmine wanted an “extreme” makeover, I was able to bring the back teeth out farther to give her a broader smile. I threw in a little gum surgery to alleviate her gummy smile. For the first time Jasmine’s pictures show a full broad beautiful smile.
Bethany - Hand crafted composite veneers
This patient was so embarrassed about her smile that she would not let me use her real name or her full face in the pictures. She works with small children in the Chicago Public School system.
Well, you know how innocent and honest children can be. They would ask her what was wrong with her teeth and why she doesn’t fix them. My patient would hide her teeth whenever she could and when she needed to laugh she would put her hand over her mouth. And as I’ve said before, pictures were out of the question.
The best way to correct her problem was with braces and porcelain veneers. But time and money were a problem. She wanted to look better right away and could not afford the veneers.
She compromised and allowed me to hand craft veneers made out of a composite material instead of porcelain. The procedure was painless (no shots were necessary) and everything was completed in one visit.
Julie - Porcelain Veneers and Bleaching
Julie felt that her smile was too pointy and wanted a broader, wider smile. She also wanted her teeth to be as white as possible. First I bleached her teeth so her lower teeth would match her top teeth. I then made her temporary veneers for her teeth so she could see the color and the shape of what her final veneers would look like. Julie wanted her front teeth longer so I modified her temporaries making them slightly longer. Her teeth looked great longer. The only problem was she was now having trouble speaking clearly and was lisping. She did not have a problem speaking with the original temps. I was able to make her teeth slightly longer than the original temps and shorter than the modified temps and her speech came back to normal. As I said earlier Julie wanted her teeth to be as white as possible. So I had her veneers made in the lightest possible shade (010). I’m usually uncomfortable making veneers that light but Julie insisted. Not every one can have teeth that white but Julie was able to pull it off. Her smile is now stunning.
Nicole - Veneers and bleaching
Nicole did not like her smile. She specifically did not like the shape of her teeth ("they were too skinny") and the spaces or gaps between them. She also wanted her teeth lighter. I had Nicole bleach her teeth until she reach the shade she wanted. I then prepared her front six teeth for veneers.
"Thank you Dr. Siegel I'm so happy with my smile makeover that I can't stop smiling."
Charles - Porcelain veneers
Charles is in the entertainment world and he wanted his teeth to be perfect for personal and business reasons. Straight white teeth are what Charles wanted and in only two appointments, that is what he got. Needless to say, Charles is all smiles now.
