Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is an integral aspect of health care for many people. Chiropractic Whole Health has four highly trained, experienced massage therapists that successfully assist our patients on their journey toward optimal health, mobility, and quality of life.
Massage is a wonderful complement to chiropractic care. The type of massage employed by our licensed therapists may be relaxing for the patient, but techniques go beyond those that are commonly found in the day-spa setting. Each therapist may utilize a unique technique during sessions that lasts from thirty minutes to an hour. In a comfortable private setting, care may be performed to relax and loosen tissues, preparing them for chiropractic treatment or other therapy. Ultimately, the goal of massage is to do this and to nourish tissues and muscles by improving the flow of oxygen to areas of damage, release obstacles to mobility, relieve tension, and eliminate toxins from the body.
At Chiropractic Whole Health, massage may be incorporated into care not only to relax the patient but also to enhance treatments aimed at addressing the cause of pain. A nice, relaxing massage can feel comforting and rejuvenating. The originating use of this therapy was, however, to release tension deep within the body. Through focused application, our massage therapists complement the work that Drs. Smith and Bailey perform.
Some of the benefits of massage therapy as an adjunct to chiropractic care include:
- Due to the relationship between muscles and joints, chiropractic joint mobility techniques are enhanced by therapeutic massage, especially in the area of increased flexibility and mobility.
- Therapeutic massage releases both physical and mental stress, addressing some of the common causes of misalignment in the joints of the body.
- Pre-adjustment massage can maximize chiropractic treatment, creating an easier process and prompting greater efficiency by relaxing muscles that hold joints in an improper position. Where there is relaxation, there is less resistance to the appropriate mobilization of joints.
- It has been found that the combination of chiropractic and massage expedites the recovery of numerous types of injuries. These two therapies encourage the body's natural healing processes.
