MEET DR. HATCHER
Dr. Steven Hatcher has dedicated his career to changing patients’ lives with exceptional smiles. His practice is patient-centered, with an emphasis on individual attention. He recognizes that good oral health requires a lifetime of diligent care, and he strives to develop long-term patient relationships, helping them every step of the way.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Dr. Hatcher attended UNC (University of Northern Carolina), where he majored in biology and completed undergraduate studies. During this time, he was awarded a cancer research grant from NIH. Following dental school graduation, Dr. Hatcher went to Fort Meade, MD where his military service began. The majority of his service was in Washington DC. He was stationed at various locations including the Pentagon, Fort McNair, Fort Belvoir, and Fort Meade.

In keeping with his dedication to excellence, Dr. Hatcher regularly attends courses, lectures, and other educational opportunities. He is an active member of many professional associations, which affords him the opportunity to stay at the forefront of the latest developments in dentistry.

AWAY FROM THE OFFICE
When Dr. Hatcher isn’t in the office creating dazzling smiles, he enjoys time with his family, skiing, hiking, golfing, cooking, and traveling. He and his wife, Dr. Sona Isharani, and their daughter, Sophie, live in Greensboro.
MEET DR. ISHARANI
Dr. Sona Isharani is a board certified pediatric dentist, and beloved by our patients. Her expertise in working with children comes from not only professional education and experience but also motherhood. She is known for her gentleness, compassion, and ability to develop a rapport with children.
Known to her patients as Dr. Sona, she strives to create a dental home, where children and parents feel relaxed and comfortable. She believes in establishing a good foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles through education and preventive care in a home-like, relaxed atmosphere.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Dr. Sona earned her DDS degree from University of North Carolina, which is also where she earned her graduate and undergraduate degrees. She completed her training at the University of Maryland Dental School, with a three-year pediatric dentistry program. She graduated with a certificate in pediatric dentistry, and has been treating Greensboro children ever since.

Dr. Sona completed fellowship training at University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia). The program included growth and development, as well as behavioral management along with clinical training. She is an active member of numerous professional associations, including:

- Samuel D. Harris Fellowship, from the National Children’s Oral Health Policy and Advocacy Training of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, (Dr. Sona was the first-ever recipient of this honor)

- Passionate Leadership Award from Junior League of Greensboro
AWAY FROM THE OFFICE
When Dr. Sona isn’t at the office, she enjoys spending time with family and participating in community events. She donates her time and skills to Christina Smiles, an event proving free dentistry for underprivileged children, and serves as a Child Advocate of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (lobby day). Her favorite hobbies include meditating, exercising, reading, traveling, and volunteering. She resides in Greensboro with her husband, Dr. Steven Hatcher, and their daughter Sophie.
MEET VICTORIA L. SANTIAGO-COIRO DMD, FAGD
Dr. Victoria Santiago-Coiro, a native of Toms River, New Jersey is an experienced dentist, bringing thorough, meticulous care to her patient base for over 12 years.
With a lifelong dream of becoming a dentist, Victoria completed her undergraduate coursework at Montclair State University majoring in Molecular Biology. Dr. Santiago-Coiro was then offered early acceptance to UMDNJ- New Jersey Dental School (currently Rutgers School of Dental Medicine). Upon graduation in 2005, she went into private practice in her hometown of Toms River.
Dr. Santiago-Coiro is very passionate about continuing education and has earned a Fellowship award in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2011. She is looking forward to achieving Scholar status with the Dawson Academy. Through a rigorous curriculum and participation in study clubs, Dawson dentists are trained in an analysis of bite problems and related disorders of the TMJ’s (jaw joints) in order to achieve long-term maintainable health and comfort with the creation and maintenance of a beautiful, natural smile.

Dr. Santiago-Coiro is a die-hard New York Yankees fan and loves watching football. On Friday nights, you will always see her on the sideline cheering on, watching her husband, Damon, coach high school football at Southeast Guilford High School. She also enjoys spending as much time as she can with her 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
MEET DR. HYMAN (RETIRED IN DECEMBER 2017)
Dr. Mark E. Hyman is a board-certified dentist as well as a much sought-after public speaker. He is known for his humor, enthusiasm, warmth, and dedication to dentistry. He believes in establishing long-term patient relationships and providing high quality dental care.
A native of Greensboro, Dr. Hyman takes pride in using his aesthetic and family dentistry expertise to help the people of this community. He is involved in many charitable community events, including Mission of Mercy.

Dr. Hyman has been frequently featured as an expert guest on WGHP Morning news in Cindy Farmer’s “Your Turn” segment. During these appearances, he answers your oral health questions on the air.
