A Dentist Goes Back to the Future! - Ten things I wish I could tell my 25 to 55 year old self

By Mike Lakhani, Stive Farronato and Chris Molloy

Hindsight can help you avoid costly and time consuming mistakes. If dentists living in retirement could go back in time, and teach you all the things you need to know, as a young associate, an established dentist, or a retiring dentist, would you take note? What would, and what could, you do differently to avoid these mistakes and improve your retirement nest egg? Financial planning and financial management are certainly important factors and this seminar discusses the top ten tax tips that you can implement today, to avoid that bitter afterthought when it's too late!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly! Top Reasons Why Hiring Good is Better than Firing Bad

By Steve Jones

If you could use tools to provide an evaluation of an employee's personal attributes, values and life skills in an effort to maximize their job performance and contribution to the practice, how valuable would that be? Personality profiling asks questions designed to seek out information about an employee's temperament, decision-making methods, communication style and general attitude towards work and recreation. The information is typically used to match the right employee to the right project, especially when group work is involved. This entertaining topic will have you laughing at the good, the bad and the ugly sides of hiring and firing!

Secrets of the Wealthy Dentists - Where are they now? Aligning your practice with your life

By Mike Lakhani, Stive Farronato and Chris Molloy

This presentation provides an update on the lives of three dentists: Dr. Malhotra, Dr. Bekker and Dr. St. Louis. The last time we saw them (in the renowned book Secrets of the Wealthy Dentist), our friends were working on improving their individual situations and finding solutions to the challenges they each faced. So, where are they now? In this presentation, we show a financial road map for the young associate, established and retiring dentists, and how their co-ordinated approach with a team of seasoned experts helped them to face new challenges and take action to continue their personal and practice success.

Some of the commonly held beliefs are that the eventual sale of the practice and accumulating RRSP's will take care of your retirement needs. These two components make up only a portion of the amount needed to retire, as other strategies also need to be considered. Identify your target retirement number and learn how well structured strategies placed in time will help you achieve a successful retirement, and protect your family should the unexpected happen.
