Whether you are interested in cosmetic dentistry or dental implants, this lab test looks at 96 different products in the dental field, such as different porcelains, cements, metals such as titanium. The testing for the safe biological materials for your mouth is done via a blood test. Once the blood is drawn, the specimen is shipped overnight to Clifford Labs.
For this dental materials biocompatibility testing, you do not need to alter your diet prior to the blood draw. Certain medications can affect the test, such as long term cortical-steroids or immunosuppressive medications. Please let us know prior to testing if you are using any of these.
The results of your test are received within 3-4 business days after the specimen is shipped from our office. This blood testing can be done Monday through Thursday only. We email you your results and a phone consultation is scheduled to go over the biocompatibility testing.
