DR. ERIN STEPHENS
Erin Stephens is a Loma Linda born, Washington state native who came to Southern California five years ago to pursue a career in dentistry.
Erin is married to Ryan Stephens, a sales manager in Redlands whom she met while completing her undergraduate Biology degree at Pacific Union College in Napa Valley, California. She graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2010 with high honors and is currently an Assistant Professor for the Oral Diagnosis, Radiology and Pathology department at the School of Dentistry. Here she oversees student dentists on the clinic floor, diagnoses student comprehensive exams and lectures to students about dental diagnosis and prevention.
When she is not instructing students on clinic or lecturing, she is treating patients in a private practice setting, doing what she likes the most: improving the dental health of the community. “People are the best part of dentistry,” Erin says. “Dentistry is so much more than teeth. It is about the whole person.”
Her interests within dentistry include esthetic dentistry, general restorative dentistry, oral surgery, removable partial dentures, implants and endodontics. She believes general restorative dentistry and esthetic dentistry should go hand in hand. Restoring someone’s teeth is not only about oral health but the appearance of a natural smile. The invasiveness of oral surgery and endodontics illustrates the ability of the human body to adapt and heal even in the event of a full or partial loss of a tooth. Subsequent placement of a crown, removable partial denture or implant is an innovative way of bringing back function, stability, health and esthetics.
Also an active member of her church family, Erin serves on the Young Adult Social Committee, Worship committee and is Leader of the Young Adult praise team for the Azure Hills SDA church. Earring-making, board games, singing, Kona (dog), Jersey (cat), social events and travel occupy the rest of her time. “I consider myself very blessed. I have a wonderful husband, loving church, supportive family and friends and an occupation that I enjoy. What more could you want?”
